Paul GoddardPaul served in various administrative posts with the Manchester and Salford City Councils before his appointment in 1974, inter alia, as Lieutenancy Officer with the Greater Manchester Council. He was appointed Clerk to the Greater Manchester Lieutenancy in 1988; he retired from that post in June 2007 and was appointed a Deputy Lieutenant.

In 1989 he was appointed by Her Majesty The Queen to be a Member of The Royal Victorian Order and in 2002 to be a Lieutenant of the Order.

Paul is Chairman of the Cotton Districts and Barnes Samaritan Charities.

Previous voluntary sector involvements include The Prince's Trust; The Big Issue in the North; Emmaus; Chetham's School of Music; The University of Manchester and All Saints Primary School, Sale.

Paul is a Catenian.

Paul is married to Fran and they have two children, Ruth and Nathan, and four grandchildren, Sylvie, Megan, Ivor and Benjamin.
