On the 1st November , Lorraine Worsley Carter and the Ceremonial Mayor of Salford, Mr Peter Dobbs opened the Garden of Remembrance at the Cenotaph, Albion Place, The Crescent, Salford. The Garden was the idea of Mr Derrick Corfield, Chairman of the Co-ordinating Committee for Remembrance in Salford.

Sue Lomas DL received an OBE in December.

In December,Lorraine Worsley Carter presented a Duchy of Lancaster Benevolent Fund cheque in the sum of £400 to The Worsley Royal Voluntary Service Guild Hall for their over 60’s Luncheon Club.

The Royal Voluntary Service is a registered charity providing practical help and support to older people and thus helps to assist isolation and help keep older community members connected to their wider community. The luncheon club provides a nutritious meal for up to 20 people and is supported by 8 volunteers.

Lorraine presented the cheque to Chair, Sue Norbury at the Club’s annual Christmas Party.

Sue Lomas represented the GMLO on Remembrance Sunday at Albion Place, the Crescent , Salford.
