Sue Allison DL visited the Nicky Alliance Centre to present a cheque for £1,000 on behalf of the Duchy of Lancaster Benevolent Fund.

The centre, a home from home club for elderly members of the Manchester Jewish Community, offers a range of activities to help its members remain active, maintain their independence and have fun.

Michelle Wiseman, Nicky Alliance chief executive, said: “The Duchy of Lancaster’s Fund has been a great supporter of our organisation and I would like to express our thanks to the Lord Lieutenant and his team for this most welcome contribution to our funds.  We are constantly developing our offering to the community and the money will be put to good use.”

The Duchy Fund covers the Counties of Greater Manchester, Lancashire and Merseyside. The Trustees of the Fund invite a wide variety of community based Organisations and Charitable causes within these three Counties to apply for a donation that will benefit the local community.
