Lt. Col. Leanda J. Pitt OBE TD DL

Leanda Pitt was born in 1958 in Ilfracombe, North Devon. She joined the Regular Army in 1975 serving as a Military Policewoman in BAOR, Northern Ireland and London. In 1985 she joined the Army Reserve (formerly known as the TA), commissioned in 1986 she served (in her spare time) in a number of appointments with 156 Transport Regiment RLC. She commanded Liverpool University Officers' Training Corps from 1999-2002. In 1988 she became an Army Careers Officer, which was her full time employment and in 2002 she was appointed Commander Regional Recruiting for the North West until 2013. She now works for Capita as a Regional Operations Manager and is the operational head of Army recruiting for the North of England.

She is currently Vice Chairman Army for the North West and Isle of Man Reserve Forces and Cadets Association, a Trustee for Broughton House a Care Home for ex-Servicemen and Women in Salford and a Trustee for the Stretford Road Trust which provides support to Army Reserve units in the Palatine County of Lancaster.

Awarded a Territorial Decoration in 1998 and an OBE in Her Majesty The Queen's New Years Honours List in 2009. She has been a Deputy Lieutenant since 2004.

Married to Jack she has one daughter. Although once a keen sports women she now prefers to watch from the sideline.
