Mrs Anne Sykes JP DL

Anne SykesAnne was born in 1945. She is married to John, a retried Anglican priest and they have two grown up children. She was educated at Heywood Grammar School.

Anne's working career began with the Ministry of Defence before moving to the Department of Pensions and finally to the Department of Social Services. Since having her children Anne has concentrated on the Voluntary sector where she has held Non-Executive Directorships with Oldham NHS Trust in 1999-2002 and Pennine Care NHS Trust from 2000 to date.

Anne is heavily involved with her church and served the diocese as Secretary of the Board of Ministry for six years and as a member of the Panel of Selectors for Reader Ministry. In her local area Anne, has been a member of Saddleworth Cancer Research Campaign for many years and has now become its Chairman.

Anne was appointed to Oldham Bench in 1989 and has held the position of Chair of the Advisory Committee and continues to serve on the Probation Liaison Committee.

Anne was appointed as a Deputy Lieutenant in August 2003.

Her leisure activities include dancing and she is a member of the International Dance Teachers Association.
