Lord-Lieutenant’s Patronages, Presidencies and Community and Voluntary Positions

It is considered that the Lord-Lieutenant will follow the example of His Majesty The King and seek to promote and support voluntary service; benevolent organisations; and by taking an active interest in the commercial and civic and social life of the county. The Lord-Lieutenant gives of her name and/or time to the following sectors and organisations.

Patronages and Presidencies

Patron of The Nicky. An organisation that supports older, disabled and vulnerable people suffering from social isolation, and their families .Appointed July 2023

President of Walthew House. A charity providing practical and emotional support for people in Stockport living with sight or hearing loss. Appointed August 2022

County President of Greater Manchester West Scouts

Charitable Trust Board Positions

Chairman of the Management Committee of Fortalice, the Bolton women’s refuge and outreach support centre.

Vice President of the Manchester Luncheon Club appointed August 2022.

Chairman of Bolton Scout Trust. BST is a registered charity which owns and runs Bibby’s Farm Scout Camp Site and Activity Centre.

Ecclesiastical

Member of the Church of England Provincial Panel for the Province of York, dealing with clergy disciplinary measures.

Education

Governor of her old school, Withington Girls’ School in Manchester. Appointed September 2017

Magistracy

Presiding Justice sitting exclusively in the Family Court in Greater Manchester.

Chair of the Greater Manchester Advisory Committee.

Trust Fund Management

Deputy Chairman of the Manchester Guardian Society Charitable Trust who meet quarterly to consider applications from local charitable organisations (within Greater Manchester) for funding.

Chair of Greater Manchester Panel for the Duchy of Lancaster Benevolent Fund who meet quarterly to consider applications from local charitable organisations (within Greater Manchester) for funding.

Trustee of Greater Manchester High Sheriff’s Police Trust a partnership of individuals, companies and voluntary or statutory agencies that are determined to make a contribution to Greater Manchester by supporting projects that reduce crime and the fear of crime in our communities.
